Charity of the year for 2024

We are delighted to announce that our charity of the year is The Pink Place, Basingstoke. Since 2010, The Pink Place (and Blue Space for men) have provided free well-being services, complementary therapies, counselling and support to adults in North Hampshire affected by cancer. Their services are available to people from initial diagnosis throughout treatment and beyond.

This choice is very personal to us as one of our very dear staff members is now also under the care of The Pink Place. It brings it home that cancer comes in many forms and can affect anybody, either personally or through their families, friends or colleagues.

We understand the frightening and worrying impact these diagnoses can have, so the more we can do to help support them and make this a less traumatic experience, the better.

The Pink Place's fundraising diary for 2024 includes:

Solo Mia Fashion Show on Thursday, 25 April

An evening of fun, laughter and games including Italian fashion at reasonable prices, modelled by some of the ladies who are supported by The Pink Place, escorted by firefighters from Tadley Fire Station.

Froze-ember throughout November

Following on from last year's very successful launch, we will once again do Froze-ember this year.

During November 2023, Kay, the Pink Place's Operations Manager, took on a chill-water challenge, dipping in an unheated outside spa pool every single day to raise funds. For the last week of the month, when the weather turned extremely cold, we invited companies and individuals to ‘Dip with Kay’ in the garden of The Orchard, Basingstoke where our charity is based.

Local companies really got behind this fundraiser and MD’s and their staff came along to take up the challenge and donated a few £’s. After taking part in the dip, participants could warm up with a hot drink and homemade cake and Nicola, their Therapist Manager offered neck and shoulder massages too!

Visit The Pink Place website to find out more about the brilliant work they do.
